As one of the oldest towns on the West Coast of Florida, Dunedin features a wooded and subtropical setting with almost four miles of scenic waterfront, a laid-back lifestyle, and a variety of activities for all ages.

I can say that our stay in Dunedin is truly an enjoyable and memorable one. We enjoyed many things during our stay including all the fantastic museums, stunning sunsets, and delicious meals we had.

Stay at the Fenway Hotel, Autograph Collection

When you’re heading to Dunedin soon, I highly recommend staying at the Fenway Hotel, Autograph Collection. It’s one of the best hotels. As an Autograph Marriott Collection hotel situated right in front of St Joseph Sound, the body of water on the Gulf of Mexico coast of Pasco and Pinellas counties. It is within walking distance of Dunedin Marina and Main Street. We truly enjoyed the stunning views of the sunset from the rooftop bar plus the live jazz music in the lobby. Dunedin Main Street

It truly is an awesome quaint Florida town that boasts several unique stores and top-notch restaurants. We strolled east and west of Dunedin Main Street and explored all the must-see places that caught our eye and interest. There are also benches along the way which is a convenient feature if you need to take a break for a short while before moving on to your next stop.

You’ll surely delight in the vast array of things to see and do in Dunedin Florida, right on Main Street.

Dunedin Museum

If you want to immerse in the rich history of Dunedin, make sure you’ll head over to the Dunedin Museum. It’s a destination where history comes alive at 349 Main Street. The museum boasts a collection of up to 2,000 artifacts, 2,500 photographs, and a library containing 200 volumes of local and Florida history.

Stirling Art Studios & Gallery

When it comes to art, you’ll enjoy the exhibits and a gallery shop that showcases fine work from the local artists of Dunedin at the Stirling Art Studios & Gallery. There are also events now and then and grab the chance to attend one if there’s one during your visit.

Penny Lane Beatles Museum

Whether you’re a fan or not, make your visit to Dunedin worthwhile by heading over to the Penny Lane Beatles Museum  at 730 Broadway. It’s a treasure trove of Beatles-era memorabilia that’s worth checking out.

Amazing lunch at Crown & Bull

When it comes to an unforgettable gastronomic experience, I highly recommend Crown & Bull if you’re going to stay in Dunedin, which is a modern American restaurant situated in the downtown area. Some of the menu choices we had were Caesar salad and the specialty hamburger which are both delicious and a must-try. The service was excellent, and the ambiance of the place was truly charming.

Dessert at Strachan’s Ice Cream & Desserts

If you’re looking for a sweet treat, head over to Strachan’s Ice Cream & Desserts. For me, they have one of the best ice creams we have ever tasted. You’ll find a selection of choices that I have never seen in any other ice cream store. Some of the items we had were Carrot Cake Sundae, a small cup of Cookie Monster ice cream with a chocolate-covered piece of an ice cream cone.

Voted as the best of Tampa Bay, Strachan’s Ice Cream & Desserts offers an amazing selection of homemade ice cream, award-winning desserts, and a friendly ambiance that’ll make anyone right at home. Among the top things to see and do in Dunedin Florida, make sure you grab a savory treat at Strachan’s Ice Cream & Desserts.

Stop by at the Harley’s Popcorn

You’ll find unique gourmet popcorn flavors at Harley’s Popcorn such as chicken wing, unicorn, and a variety of seasonal selections. The must-see spot is a refreshing one-of-a-kind concept that combines nostalgia and the feel of a classic Downtown/Main Street soda fountain with the warmth and decor of a New England cider house.

Drop by at the Back in the Day Books

If you love books, make sure you’ll drop by Back in the Day Books at 355 Main Street. You might get the chance to find one of your favorite childhood books. You might even bring home a special book from the selection of collectible or rare books.

Pinellas Bike Trail

When you’re feeling adventurous and eager to spend time in nature, the Pinellas Bike Trail is fantastic while offering fantastic views of the outdoors. Going on a hike or riding a bike through the trail is also worth including in your top things to see and do in Dunedin Florida. The Pinellas Trail covers 45 miles of a paved trail that extends from Tarpon Springs to St. Petersburg, Florida, and runs through the heart of downtown Dunedin. The trail offers several stop points with dining, bars, and shopping along the way.

If you’ve been out and around for some time, you may want to cool down by dropping by Lane’s Lemonade at 349 A Main Street to enjoy refreshing homemade lemonade. Lane’s Lemonade serves freshly squeezed lemonades, limeades, orangeades, and the popular must-try vanilla-orange swirl ice cream.

Visit Dunedin Marina

The Dunedin Marina is a must-see spot that you shouldn’t miss out on during your stay. It’s where you can see the Florida boating life while walking down the pier and soak up the scenic views of the Gulf of Mexico. There are boat tour options in the Marina where you can get the chance to encounter dolphins or manatees or simply enjoy the beauty of the sunset.

The Dunedin Marina is situated right in the heart of downtown Dunedin and contains 180 wet slips. As a public fishing Pier, you can either catch a fish or enjoy the beauty of the sunset.

Plan for dinner at Bon Appetit Restaurant

For an unforgettable dinner in Dunedin, head over to Bon Appetit Restaurant which has been voted the best in waterfront dining in Tampa Bay. It’s the ideal spot to enjoy scenic views of the sunset or stroll through their exclusive guest pier. We had a great dinner, and we enjoyed the Lobster Bisque, Lazy Man’s Lobster, and chicken Caesar salad. For dessert, we had coconut cream pie with a cappuccino which was a delectable combination. The great food and picturesque view made our dinner a memorable one.

Honeymoon Island State Park

During your stay in Dunedin, make sure you’ll grab the chance to visit Honeymoon Island State Park to enjoy the white sand beaches, stunning sunsets, and the ultimate birdwatcher’s paradise. As the top state park in Florida, it boasts majestic views, and the experience is truly worthwhile with its clear emerald waters with fine powder-like sandy beaches on the Gulf of Mexico.

Caladesi Island State Park

If you’re planning to visit Caladesi Island State Park, make sure you’ll be early since it’s only accessible via the ferry. The first ferry trip departs at 9:30 AM. If you’re heading over to Honeymoon Island, make sure to head over to Caladesi Island since it’s just nearby. Both islands boast natural and unspoiled beauty that you’ll surely love.

It’s one of the few untouched islands along the Gulf Coast that offers an array of activities for all ages. You can stroll along the pristine beaches or go on a kayak trip and many more.

Among our latest escapades, I can say that we enjoyed our visit to Dunedin, Florida. With great memories and experiences, we’ll return to the breathtaking beauty of the sunset view, unforgettable gastronomic experience, and stunning must-visit islands.
